How to get rid of Acute Respiratory Diseases?
Acute
Respiratory diseases, or lung diseases, are pathological conditions
affecting the organs and tissues that make gas exchange problem in
air-breathing. Most breathing problems are caused by lung diseases and may avert
the body from getting the adequate amount of oxygen. They include conditions of
the respiratory tract containing the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli,
pleurae, pleural cavity, and the nerves and muscles of respiration. Respiratory
diseases starts from mild and self-limiting, such as the common cold to life-threatening
diseases such as bacterial pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, acute asthma and lung
cancer. Your body has a natural protection system
designed to protect the lungs, keeping dirt and germs at bay. But there are
some essential things you can do to reduce your risk of lung disease.
Here are some methods
to keep your lungs healthy.
Don't
Smoke:
Cigarette smoking is
the main cause of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),
which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Cigarette smoke can tighten
the air passages and make breathing more difficult. It generate chronic
inflammation, or swelling in the lung, which can lead to chronic bronchitis.
Over time cigarette smoke destroys lung tissue and may bring out changes that
grow into cancer. If you smoke, it's never too late to benefit from quitting.
Avert
Exposure to Indoor Pollutants That Can Damage Your Lungs:
Secondhand smoke, chemicals in the home and
workplace, and radon all can lead to or causes lung disease. Make your home and
car smoke free. Test your home for radon. Avoid exercising outdoors on bad air
days.
Minimize
Exposure to Outdoor Air Pollution:
The air quality outside can changes from day to day
and sometimes is unhealthy to breathe. Knowing how outdoor air pollution alters
your health and useful strategies to minimize prolonged exposure can help keep
you and your family well. Natural disasters and climate change can also
directly impact lung health.
Prevent
Infection:
A cold or other respiratory infection can sometimes
become very crucial. There are multiple things you can do to protect yourself:
·
Wash your hands regularly with soap and
water. If soap and water are not available quickly, use an alcohol-based hand
sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
·
Good oral hygiene can preserve you from
the germs in your mouth leading to infections. Brush your teeth at least twice
a day and consult your dentist at least every six months.
·
Get vaccinated or emergency
medicine regularly against
influenza. Talk to your healthcare provider to find out if which vaccine is
right for you.
·
When you’re sick, keep it to yourself!
Stay home and work or go to school till you're feeling better. Preserve the
people around you by keeping your distance.
·
Avoid crowds during the flu and cold season.
